How does Landscape Associates of CA price a landscaping project?
Every project is priced as an itemized quote after a free on-site estimate, so you see the cost of each part: paving, walls, drainage, irrigation, planting and lighting. Our published San Jose guide gives planning ranges, for example full backyard renovations at $25,000 to $75,000+. We reply within 24 hours; calls and texts go to (408) 207-5545.
What warranties does Landscape Associates of CA give on its work?
Pavers carry a lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship. Artificial turf is covered for 15 years. Irrigation, landscape lighting and drainage each carry 2 years, and plants are covered for up to 1 year. Retaining walls, concrete and outdoor kitchens have no separate stated warranty; each is itemized in your estimate.
Who handles permits for a landscaping project?
Permit thresholds differ by city: San Jose, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Los Altos, Monte Sereno, Monterey and Carmel each set their own rules for retaining walls, fences, driveways and tree removal. Our city pages list each rule with its source, checked October 2026. Ask us about permits for your address at the estimate, before the layout is final.
How long do landscaping projects usually take to build?
Our published San Jose guide gives 3 to 7 days for most paver patios and 2 to 6 weeks for a full backyard renovation with pavers, walls, turf and lighting. Our Monte Sereno page lists 3 to 5 weeks for a full renovation, or 6 to 10 weeks with walls, lighting or HOA review. Engineering, approvals and weather can add time.
What insurance does Landscape Associates of CA carry, and who does the gas and electrical work?
Landscape Associates of CA is fully insured for residential and commercial landscaping. On outdoor kitchens, we have a licensed plumber do the gas and a licensed electrician do the electrical (110 and 220); our crew builds the island, counters and paving around them. Ask us about permits for the gas and electrical connections at your address.
Which cities does Landscape Associates of CA work in?
We work in San Jose, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills, Monte Sereno, Monterey, and Carmel including Carmel Valley and Pebble Beach, with Campbell, Cupertino and Sunnyvale nearby. Our mailing address is in Monterey. Each city has its own page with local permit rules, water rules and our published price ranges.

These are David Muhoberac's own answers to a set of interview questions, kept as he gave them.
Why does your work stand out from others? What do you do?
My enhanced landscaping abilities are a direct result of working together with my clients. I work closely with my clients to create spaces that are functional and beautiful. All of our installations come with at least (1) year warranty and some of our installations come with lifetime warranty.
What do you like most about your job?
I love the creative process, taking something mediocre or even a blank slate and making it a place for relaxation & comfort for your family and friends to enjoy.
What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
How long have you been doing landscaping? Since 1987.
Are you competitively priced? Absolutely, I have to be.
If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
Many times it’s what you don’t see (underground) which is extremely important.
How did you decide to get in your line of work?
I started in high school knocking on doors, I never wanted to do anything else.
Do you have a favorite story from your work?
I have too many to list ( ASK ME when I meet with you )
When my clients tell me that we exceeded their expectations that of course thrills me.
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a landscape professional like you?
From inception through completion consistent clear communications is extremely important. Share as much information as you can about how you want the environment to look, feel and space utilization. Also, call previous customers and look at their yards. Don’t always just trust online testimonials, make your own judgments from talking with customers that have actually worked with me.
What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
That I will do what I promised to do & I won’t disappear.

I read everything I can about landscaping
What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years?
Water conservation, Water saving irrigation systems have come along way and new technology with water use ie, monitoring leaks and use remotely
Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.
The last two projects were putting greens using artificial turf. From $7,000 to $15,000
